About 4GLYCO

4GLYCO is a product line of high-quality recombinant lectins (carbohydrate-binding proteins) produced at Masaryk University (Brno, Czech Republic). It is based on 25 years of lectin research in Michaela Wimmerová group.

4GLYCO products include lectins specific towards various glycans with different degrees of carbohydrate specificity (from broadly specific lectins binding to terminal sugar residues irrespective of the linkage type to lectins recognizing specific oligosaccharide epitopes). Encouraged by the scientific community, we are making our portfolio of lectins available to anyone and offering them commercially now.

Why to choose 4GLYCO lectins

• We cloned and intensively studied all the lectins offered, and many of them were discovered by us. As such, we know them best. If required, we can provide our customers with advice or further assistance.
• We offer highly pure, salt-free products that underwent thorough quality control (criteria based on ARBRE-MOBIEU/P4EU guidelines). The certificates of analysis are freely available on our web pages, and you can check the results of QC analysis before ordering our products.
• Our lectins are produced in a recombinant form. In contrast to many lectins isolated from natural sources, they are not glycosylated and do not contain mixtures of lectins or their isoforms with potentially different carbohydrate specificities.
• We are open and do not hide anything from you. You will know the identity of the lectins we offer and their complete protein sequences.
